An increasing number of cruise ships are sailing out of Dubai in the Middle East as it grows as a cruising destination.Cruises visit Muscat, Oman and other port towns in the Middle East. Dubai is a fast growing commercial centre. As you cruise out of Dubai look out for the recently retired Queen Elizabeth 2 which is dicked in Dubai and used as a hotel and tourist attraction.
As you leave Dubai cruise ships sail through the Straight of Hormuz, at the mouth of the Persian Gulf with Oman and Iran separated only by 15 miles at the narrowest point.
